You are on the wrong side.

It has been said, many times, the only bad press exposure is no press exposure. It still applies with today's media. All the exposure Chik-Fil-A is getting online (free) is something they could never buy. Every one who comments (on sites other than the company site), no matter which side of the imagined controversy, perpetrates Chik-Fil-A to take another trip to the bank with a bagful of money. It does not matter what is said, as long as something is said.

This writer does not know anything about Chik-Fil-A, do not know where one is nor have ever been in one and do not intend to go into one. In other words, they have absolutely no affect on my life. Nada. Nein. Zilch. Admittedly, this writer knows nothing about the issues surrounding this company. Do not care to know. Does not affect me. This writer has better things to do than waste brain cells being concerned about this companies policies or business practices. This writer has never spent a dime for their products nor ever intends to.

Point one: The truth is always in the eye of the beholder. In other words, you will believe what you want to believe. No matter who said what.

Point two: If you believe side A, you will never believe side B unless you are convinced you were wrong. And vice versus. Fat chance.

Point three: If you are or are not a customer and like its product and policies, good for you.

Point four: If you are or are not a customer and do not like its products and policies, good for you.

Fact one: If it is a bad company, puts out a bad product, it will die of natural causes. Does not matter what rumors you may believe.

Fact two: If it is a good company, puts out a good product, it will survive the bad times and flourish. Does not matter what rumors you may believe.

Fact three: The more you spread rumors, the more they like it. They cannot buy that type of exposure. They are very happy to have you working for them free of charge.

Fact four: This is the most important fact. No matter which side you are on, you are on the wrong side. Just ask the person next to you.

So STOP spreading rumors. If you have an honest opinion based on your personal experience, go to the appropriate company site and give it. They will appreciate it.

No Brag, Just Fact.

Buy less guns

What we need, as a public, is very expensive gun ammunition. And a cheap cigar. Cheap cigar is a must. One must chew on a cigar while planning and executing a genuine hunt. Its the image thing. It would not be a good image for a non-smoking, non-drinking teetotaler to be target shooting or hunting.

I put forward the idea that should a target shooter, or hunter, spend $1000.00 (plus tax) a round for the ammo needed to hunt or target shoot, he/she will conserve rounds. Not fire so many. Hunting on a cheap budget. Buy less guns.

No matter the insanity the shooter enjoys, the money supply is not endless. After all, one has other needs. Food, tactical clothing, armored transportation to and from the hunting site come to mind. And what about a first aid kit? Would a good planner leave out the first aid kit? I think not! So, a thousand dollar round, no matter the gun used, should put a damper on the budget for that type of sortie. So maybe a trip down the road to steal a round or two is not out of the question. Just grab a large rock, toss it through a plate glass window of a store and Viola! You have a weapon. Easy as 1, 2, 3. Oh, and while you are in there, grab a handful of ammo while your at it. Oh, what a nice knife! Look! A tactical vest! Stylish too! I can use that!

Lets not forget the rifle or other type of firearm one needs to use the ammo. This part of the budget is one of the least expensive items one needs for a hunt. Or target shooting. Or the hobby of shooting something. A person can buy most any type he/she wants. From the local gun shop or big box sporting store. Or for a few dollars, a used weapon from your neighbor. Oh yes, you can.

What should one pay per round? Would you need to be crazy to spend $1000 of real money on a hunted meal? What if you took aim, fired and missed? No meal, no more money to buy a meal. You lose. If you had the money for a round of ammo, wouldn't one spend it on food and not hunting? Ah, decisions, decisions.

If the ammo cost $1000 per round, hunting would come to a standstill. Wild game would flourish! Critters near extinction would grow in population. Rabbits would take over the neighborhood and surrounding farms. Pheasant's would make a comeback. Wild critters everywhere! There would be so many, they would annoy people every time they left the safety of their own home. Remember that wild pig you hunted and shot down in the Texas panhandle? Tasted great once it was butchered, didn't it? Well, at a thousand dollars a round, you will most certainly rethink the need for anther trip. Those wild boars will proliferate and destroy farmland. Oops! So maybe, just maybe, when buying ammo for that high powered automatic gun you just bought, you looked the official in the eye and pinky swear to use the ammo only to feed yourself or others, you will get a huge discount. My honest advice? Don't hold your breath.

What about the average, wealthy gun/weapon collector? Will this harm or otherwise deter him/her from buying items to add to the odd collection? Think not! The key term here iswealthy. Wealthy people do not actually use items they collect. Or so I'm told. Many collectors make the items inoperable by removing the firing pin. So owning guns/weapons would not be a burden on them, financially speaking. If they are not using the gun, what need do they have for ammo? Money saved. Just by not using something they make more money! Whats the down side here? After all, wealthy almost never translates to stupid.

Wrapping up, lets see if we can get the ammo companies to charge us a minimum of a $1000 a round for ammo of all types. Think they will get on the band wagon? This action would not require new laws. No political action. This may seem a little extreme but it violates none of our constitutional rights! Its a win, win for everyone. Lets petition our local ammo distributor/merchant for higher prices. All of us can, and should be, a gun owner. It just would be a little hard to pay for the ammo. But not if you are wealthy.

Hey. Works for me!
