Troops coming home.

I have been reading rants and raves about the President & his desire to bring all the troops from the big sandbox home. I do not believe that will ever happen. Look at the history of occupations by our government, therefore our troops. We still have troops in Cuba. They have been there since the Cuban/American War (1898). Do you think they are coming home? We will never, in your life time, give up our occupation of Cuba.

Look at a more recent time. Since at least WWII, we have had troops on the ground in Japan and some of its territories. Are they coming home? No. How about Korea? We have thousands of troops on the ground there. Are they coming back? The Philippines? Panama? South America? No. So, what makes you think all the troops stationed in the desert countries will be coming back?

The middle east is too important to our government. It is not in our best interest to leave. We leave and our allies will go under or be in a perpetual war. After all, that’s where the oil is. We bring our troops back, we will be open to attack and a war on our shores. So bringing our troops home is out of the question.

Now more than ever, we need to defend against weapons of mass destruction. Some governments, given such a weapon will use it. Against us if no-one else. There are many governments that want all people who do not believe in the same religion as they, DEAD. Wiped from this earth. Not to exist. Period.

No matter who is the president nor what party is in political power, no matter what is told to the public, all troops will not be coming home. We will have troops on the ground in foreign locations for generations.
